re-checking my mail.
Like a zealot
I stared at the screen.
I was living inside a dream.

Walking on water,
floating in air -
that's who I was
when thinking of her.

I pressed "Send"
having pinned down my thoughts,
searching for words
for my feelings,
finding the guts.

Our worlds began to unite,
another letter,
another reply,
I was astonished
by her ideas
and her genuine smile.

A funny comment, a wink,
they made me think:
"that avatar,
whomever it hides,
is a person whose
mind is like mine!"

It doesn't take very much,
just a tiny hint.
That's how our friendship
was built.
