This one is for my students, but generally the answers apply to anyone else who is studying - so I decided to share this.
Here are the answers to some questions I got when collecting feedback about my classes.
Orice limbă are o proprietate - perioada de îmbrăţişare^.
Some time ago I held a special lecture about efficient note taking and learning in class. It was filmed, I have the edited the pieces and made a video. The sound is not perfect, so comprehension suffers; the plan was to write the subtitles and then go public.
There is a trend among students - skip classes because they have a job. I've seen this happen to my colleagues when I was a student, and I see this happen to my students today, when I am a teacher.
I always disagreed with this, for a very simple reason - education is the best investment you can ever make.
A job gives you money, but with a better education you can get a better job and even more money. If money is what you're optimizing, then the calculus is trivial: "money" << "even more money"; the choice should be obvious. Shouldn't it?
You've already met the evil bit, now I will introduce you to another concept that is handy when analyzing social interactions - tit-for-tat.
Tit-for-tat is another way of saying "do to others what you would like to be done to you". The best and most interesting way to learn about it is to watch Dawkins' documentary called "Nice guys finish first". It is one of the most interesting documentaries I've ever seen; if your first words after watching it are "now.. wait a minute... this applies to everything!" - you are not alone.
I strongly advise you to continue reading this after you watch the movie, it will only take ~45 minutes of your time, and it is an excellent investment!
The evil bit is a construct introduced as a joke in the realm of computer networks, but it doesn't mean that the idea cannot be recycled and applied elsewhere. I will explain how it can be used in the context of human relationships.
You can refer to Wikipedia to understand what the evil bit is, or rely the following "plain English" explanation.
[Declaring] the evil bit is the act of making your harmful intention public. If the evil bit is enabled, it means that you're plotting something bad.
Keeper are nevoie de ajutorul tău.
"snooze",
când te trezeşti.
Pot fi orice...
Dar cu tine
să fiu.
Eu sunt eu,
când îţi scriu.
